Final Lesson Plan

Intro/Sponge Activity: I will play a clip titled “Elite Warrior” on a DVD given to me when I enlisted. After wards I will ask the class how they felt about the video and any emotional responses.
Foundation: Talk about a brief history of the Marine Corp and all the possible job opportunities in the Marine Corp.
Answer one: Physical Conditioning
o   Importance of Physical Conditioning
o   How being in good physical condition can help you rank up
o   Good nutrition, etc  and why it is important
First Activity: P.T Session. I will lead a P.T at the basketball courts (physical training session) which will include stretching, running and various physical workouts. For safety reasons I will give breaks for catching their breath, stretch and hydrate.
Answer two: Discipline
o   Talk about different forms of discipline (restrictions, self discipline and will power)
o   Drill and Ceremony/ formation
o   Changing yourself
Second activity: I will teach the class proper formation, how to march, different positions of attention, and different movements (left face, right face and about face)
Answer three: Commitment
§  What does separates the Marines from other branches or any army
§  Motivation
§  Brotherhood
§  Involvement
Third activity will be that the class must hold different positions (Push-up position, 6 inch flutter kick, sitting squat, plank) showing that even though one is in pain that if they are committed to a cause they can push past it.
My best answer is commitment because commitment makes physical conditioning and discipline easier. My interviews told me this, but it was service learning that I learned it myself
Explain my three main sources: Service Learning, Staff Sergeant Piliati, and Gunnery Sergeant Hilliard and how they helped me.
Talk about my product which is me becoming a better person (Physically and mentally) and how I will be serving my country and gaining life skills
I will conclude and allow my recruiter SSgt. Piliati to talk about life as a Marine.
The room will have motivational Marine posters around along with a Marine Corp Flag and The United States Flag. The students will be seated on the ground with hands on their knees (this is how it is at boot camp).

Lesson Plan (Rough Draft)

Sponge Activity: Video
I plan on playing a 3 minute video about the Marines and then asking the class how they felt about the video and what they thought.

Answer 1 : Physical Conditioning
I will introduce my the answer then run everyone outside
This will be my first activity. It will take about 20 minutes and will be a miny P.T session
After i bring them back in I will talk about the importance of strength in the military, talk about confidence and the mental side of physical conditioning, and proper nutriution

Answer 2: Discipline
Explain why discipline is so important in the Marines, what restrictions come in the Marines, how its important to change yourself and how to practice will power.
Then i will talk about physical discipline (drill) and then do my second activity which i will teach the class to march, right, left and about face and the different positions

Answer 3: Commitment
What commitment means to a Marine. Semper fi and all that.
talk about how commitment is connected to motivation and talk about motivation. Talk about the bonds between Marines.
The activity will be that the class will have to hold different positions like push up position, 6 inches, squats and maybe planks. Winners will get a prize.

Allow my recruiter to talk about  the Marines and the history and all that.
Sum everything up and exit.

I will have the flags up in the room and just some posters and the class will sit on the floor with right over left and hands on their knees.
